𑌯𑍋𑌽𑌭𑍂𑌤𑍍 𑌸𑍍𑌫𑍀𑌤𑌰𑌜𑍋𑌵𑌿𑌕𑌾𑌰𑌵𑌿𑌕𑌸𑌨𑍍𑌨𑌾𑌨𑌾𑌸𑌿𑌸𑍃𑌕𑍍𑌷𑌾𑌰𑌸𑌃 ॥1॥

Meaning
𑌏𑌵𑌂 𑌦𑍇𑌵 - in this manner O Lord!; 𑌚𑌤𑍁𑌰𑍍𑌦𑌶-𑌆𑌤𑍍𑌮𑌕-𑌜𑌗𑌤𑍍-𑌰𑍂𑌪𑍇𑌣 - in the form of the fourteen worlds; 𑌜𑌾𑌤𑌃 𑌪𑍁𑌨𑌃 - - manifesting (Thyself) again; 𑌤𑌸𑍍𑌯-𑌊𑌰𑍍𑌧𑍍𑌵𑌂 𑌖𑌲𑍁 - at the head (peak) of that (the worlds); 𑌸𑌤𑍍𑌯-𑌲𑍋𑌕-𑌨𑌿𑌲𑌯𑍇 - in the abode of Satyaloka; 𑌜𑌾𑌤𑌃 -𑌅𑌸𑌿 𑌧𑌾𑌤𑌾 𑌸𑍍𑌵𑌯𑌂 - manifested as Brahma (the Creator) Thyself; 𑌯𑌂 𑌶𑌂𑌸𑌂𑌤𑌿 - whom (Brahma) (the Srutis) describe; 𑌹𑌿𑌰𑌣𑍍𑌯𑌗𑌰𑍍𑌭𑌮𑍍- - (as) Hiranyagarbh; 𑌅𑌖𑌿𑌲-𑌤𑍍𑌰𑍈𑌲𑍋𑌕𑍍𑌯-𑌜𑍀𑌵𑌾𑌤𑍍𑌮𑌕𑌂 - of all the beings in the three worlds as the collective soul; 𑌯𑌃 -𑌅𑌭𑍂𑌤𑍍 - who became; 𑌸𑍍𑌫𑍀𑌤-𑌰𑌜𑌃-𑌵𑌿𑌕𑌾𑌰-𑌵𑌿𑌕𑌸𑌨𑍍- - because of the upsurge of Rajoguna; 𑌨𑌾𑌨𑌾-𑌸𑌿𑌸𑍃𑌕𑍍𑌷𑌾-𑌰𑌸𑌃 - desirous of creating various beings;

Translation
Thus O Lord! Thou who manifested in the form of the fourteen worlds, again by Thy own will, manifested as Brahma, in Satyaloka, which is the highest and loftiest of all the worlds.This Brahma is known as Hiranya Garbh (the golden egg) the cosmic intelligence of all the beings of the three worlds. With the upsurge of Rajoguna, Thou as this Hiranya Garbha became desirous of creating various beings.

Meaning
𑌸𑌃 -𑌅𑌯𑌂 - that this (Brahma); 𑌵𑌿𑌶𑍍𑌵-𑌵𑌿𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌗-𑌦𑌤𑍍𑌤-𑌹𑍃𑌦𑌯𑌃 - to create the universe resolving in the heart; 𑌸𑌂𑌪𑌶𑍍𑌯𑌮𑌾𑌨𑌃 𑌸𑍍𑌵𑌯𑌂 - trying to contemplate by himself; 𑌬𑍋𑌧𑌂 𑌖𑌲𑍁-𑌅𑌨𑌵𑌾𑌪𑍍𑌯 - the knowledge (required to create) indeed not getting; 𑌵𑌿𑌶𑍍𑌵𑌵𑌿𑌷𑌯𑌂 - about the subject universe; 𑌚𑌿𑌂𑌤𑌾-𑌆𑌕𑍁𑌲𑌃 -𑌤𑌸𑍍𑌥𑌿𑌵𑌾𑌨𑍍 - worried remained; 𑌤𑌾𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌂 𑌜𑌗𑌤𑌾𑌂 𑌪𑌤𑍇 - then Thou O Lord of the universe!; 𑌤𑌪 𑌤𑌪-𑌇𑌤𑌿-𑌏𑌵𑌂 𑌹𑌿 - Do penance, do penance' thus indeed; 𑌵𑍈𑌹𑌾𑌯𑌸𑍀𑌂 𑌵𑌾𑌣𑍀𑌂- - by a voice from the sky; 𑌏𑌨𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌶𑌿𑌶𑍍𑌰𑌵𑌃 - to him (Brahma) made (him) hear; 𑌶𑍍𑌰𑍁𑌤𑌿-𑌸𑍁𑌖𑌾𑌂 - (which was) pleasing to the ears; 𑌕𑍁𑌰𑍍𑌵𑌨𑍍-𑌤𑌪𑌃 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑍇𑌰𑌣𑌾𑌮𑍍 - (and) prompted him to do penance;

Translation
O Lord of the universe! Brahma intent on creating, wanted to have the knowledge of creating. In spite of his best efforts he could not do so on his own and hence he got worried. Then O Lord! willed by Thee, Brahma heard two pleasant words 'Tapa,Tapa' coming from nowhere, which prompted him to do penance.

𑌕𑌃 -𑌅𑌸𑍌 - who is it; 𑌮𑌾𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌵𑌦𑌤𑍍 𑌪𑍁𑌮𑌾𑌨𑍍- - (who) spoke to me, the revered person; 𑌇𑌤𑌿 - thus (thinking); 𑌜𑌲-𑌆𑌪𑍂𑌰𑍍𑌣𑍇 𑌜𑌗𑌨𑍍𑌮𑌂𑌡𑌲𑍇 - in the worlds fully engulfed in water; 𑌦𑌿𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍁-𑌉𑌦𑍍𑌵𑍀𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍍𑌯 - in all the directions looking around; 𑌕𑌿𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌪𑌿-𑌅𑌨𑍀𑌕𑍍𑌷𑌿𑌤𑌵𑌤𑌾 - anything not seeing; 𑌵𑌾𑌕𑍍𑌯-𑌅𑌰𑍍𑌥𑌮𑍍-𑌉𑌤𑍍𑌪𑌶𑍍𑌯𑌤𑌾 - the meaning of the words then understanding; 𑌦𑌿𑌵𑍍𑌯𑌂 𑌵𑌰𑍍𑌷-𑌸𑌹𑌸𑍍𑌰𑌮𑍍- - for a thousand divine years; 𑌆𑌤𑍍𑌤-𑌤𑌪𑌸𑌾 - doing penance; 𑌤𑍇𑌨 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌮𑍍-𑌆𑌰𑌾𑌧𑌿𑌤𑌃 - - by him (Brahma) Thou were worshipped; 𑌤𑌸𑍍𑌮𑍈 𑌦𑌰𑍍𑌶𑌿𑌤𑌵𑌾𑌨𑍍-𑌅𑌸𑌿 - to him (Brahma) Thou revealed; 𑌸𑍍𑌵-𑌨𑌿𑌲𑌯𑌂 - Thy own abode; 𑌵𑍈𑌕𑍁𑌂𑌠𑌮𑍍-𑌏𑌕-𑌅𑌦𑍍𑌭𑍁𑌤𑌂 - the Vaikunthloka wonderful;

Translation
Brahma looked around in all the directions to look for the revered person who spoke those words. The world was engulfed in water and there was no one to be seen. Then the meaning of the words dawned on him and for a thousand divine years he did penance and worshipped Thee. Thou , then revealed Thy wonderful abode Vaikunth to Brahma.

Meaning
𑌮𑌾𑌯𑌾 𑌯𑌤𑍍𑌰 - Maayaa where; 𑌕𑌦𑌾𑌪𑌿 𑌨𑍋 𑌵𑌿𑌕𑍁𑌰𑍁𑌤𑍇 - never produces modifications; 𑌭𑌾𑌤𑍇 𑌜𑌗𑌦𑍍𑌭𑍍𑌯𑌃 𑌬𑌹𑌿𑌃 - (which) shines beyond all the fourteen worlds; 𑌶𑍋𑌕-𑌕𑍍𑌰𑍋𑌧-𑌵𑌿𑌮𑍋𑌹-𑌸𑌾𑌧𑍍𑌵𑌸𑌮𑍁𑌖𑌾𑌃 - sorrow, anger, delusion, fear etc.; 𑌭𑌾𑌵𑌾𑌃-𑌤𑍁 𑌦𑍂𑌰𑌂 𑌗𑌤𑌾𑌃 - (such) mental modifications are far beyond; 𑌸𑌾𑌂𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌨𑌂𑌦𑌝𑌰𑍀 𑌚 - and the torrent of supreme bliss; 𑌯𑌤𑍍𑌰 𑌪𑌰𑌮-𑌜𑍍𑌯𑍋𑌤𑌿𑌃-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌕𑌾𑌶𑌾𑌤𑍍𑌮𑌕𑍇 - where there is the splendour of the supreme light of consciousness; 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌤𑍇 𑌧𑌾𑌮 - that abode of Thine; 𑌵𑌿𑌭𑌾𑌵𑌿𑌤𑌂 - (was) shown (to Brahmaa); 𑌵𑌿𑌜𑌯𑌤𑍇 - shining; 𑌵𑍈𑌕𑍁𑌂𑌠𑌰𑍂𑌪𑌂 - as the Vaikunthloka; 𑌵𑌿𑌭𑍋 - O All pervading Lord!;

Translation
O All pervading Lord! Where Maayaa has no influence and which is located beyond the fourteen worlds, where the modifications of the mind, like sorrow,anger delusion fear are left far behind,such is Thy abode Vaikunth. It is full of supreme bliss and is engulfed with the constant flow of bright effulgence. That shining divine abode Thou showed to Brahmaa.

Meaning
𑌯𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌿𑌨𑍍-𑌨𑌾𑌮 - in which verily; 𑌚𑌤𑍁𑌰𑍍𑌭𑍁𑌜𑌾𑌃 - the four armed (divine beings); 𑌹𑌰𑌿-𑌮𑌣𑌿-𑌶𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌮𑌾-𑌅𑌵𑌦𑌾𑌤𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌿𑌷𑌃 - the brilliant deep blue color of the sapphire like (whose) complexion (is); 𑌨𑌾𑌨𑌾-𑌭𑍂𑌷𑌣-𑌰𑌤𑍍𑌨-𑌦𑍀𑌪𑌿𑌤-𑌦𑌿𑌶𑌃 - adorned with various ornaments studded with lustrous gems (which) light up the quarters; 𑌰𑌾𑌜𑌤𑍍-𑌵𑌿𑌮𑌾𑌨-𑌆𑌲𑌯𑌾𑌃 - residing in aerial cars; 𑌭𑌕𑍍𑌤𑌿-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌪𑍍𑌤-𑌤𑌥𑌾-𑌵𑌿𑌧-𑌉𑌨𑍍𑌨𑌤-𑌪𑌦𑌾𑌃 - (who have) by devotion (to Thee) attained such high state; 𑌦𑍀𑌵𑍍𑌯𑌂𑌤𑌿 - shine; 𑌦𑌿𑌵𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌃 𑌜𑌨𑌾𑌃 - the divine beings; 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌤𑍇 𑌧𑌾𑌮 - (in) that abode of Thine; 𑌨𑌿𑌰𑌸𑍍𑌤-𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌵-𑌶𑌮𑌲𑌂 - which is free from all taint (sin); 𑌵𑍈𑌕𑍁𑌂𑌠-𑌰𑍂𑌪𑌂 - (which is) known as Vaikunth; 𑌜𑌯𑍇𑌤𑍍 - may it be victorious;

Translation
In Thy abode which is known as Vaikunth, live the divine beings who have four arms and their complexion is like deep blue lustre of sapphire. They are adorned with various jewels which are studded with gems which enlighten the quarters. They reside in aerial cars. They have achieved this high state by the merit of intense devotion to Thee. Hail to that abode of Thine which is pure and sinless.

𑌨𑌾𑌨𑌾-𑌦𑌿𑌵𑍍𑌯-𑌵𑌧𑍂-𑌜𑌨𑍈𑌃 - - by various divine damsels; 𑌅𑌭𑌿𑌵𑍃𑌤𑌾 - (who is) attended; 𑌵𑌿𑌦𑍍𑌯𑍁𑌤𑍍-𑌲𑌤𑌾-𑌤𑍁𑌲𑍍𑌯𑌯𑌾 - (who is) like a streak of lightning; 𑌵𑌿𑌶𑍍𑌵-𑌉𑌨𑍍𑌮𑌾𑌦𑌨-𑌹𑍃𑌦𑍍𑌯-𑌗𑌾𑌤𑍍𑌰-𑌲𑌤𑌯𑌾 - the world is enchanted and captivated by (whose) slender and charming form; 𑌵𑌿𑌦𑍍𑌯𑍋𑌤𑌿𑌤-𑌆𑌶𑌾𑌂𑌤𑌰𑌾 - (who) illumines the quarters; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌪𑌾𑌦-𑌅𑌂𑌬𑍁𑌜-𑌸𑍌𑌰𑌭𑍈𑌕-𑌕𑍁𑌤𑍁𑌕𑌾𑌤𑍍- - to Thy lotus feet fragrance being attached to; 𑌲𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍍𑌮𑍀𑌃 𑌸𑍍𑌵𑌯𑌂 𑌲𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍍𑌯𑌤𑍇 - where Laxmi herself is seen; 𑌯𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌿𑌨𑍍 - in which (Vaikunth); 𑌵𑌿𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌯𑌨𑍀𑌯-𑌦𑌿𑌵𑍍𑌯-𑌵𑌿𑌭𑌵𑌂 - in astounding divine riches (which) abound; 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌤𑍇 𑌪𑌦𑌂 𑌦𑍇𑌹𑌿 𑌮𑍇 - that Thy abode grant me;

Translation
O Lord! That abode of Thine Vaikunth, where Laxmi Thy consort resides, is attended to by various celestial damsels. Her, Laxmi's, slender and beautiful form is like the streak of lightening which enchants and captivates the whole world and enlightens the quarters. She being deeply attached to the fragrance of Thy lotus feet is herself always there, in Vaikunth, which abounds in astounding divine riches. O Lord that abode of Thine grant to me.

𑌤𑌤𑍍𑌰 𑌏𑌵𑌂 - there thus; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌤𑌿𑌦𑌰𑍍𑌶𑌿𑌤𑍇 𑌨𑌿𑌜𑌪𑌦𑍇 - having shown Thy abode (to Brahmaa); 𑌰𑌤𑍍𑌨-𑌆𑌸𑌨-𑌆𑌧𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌸𑌿𑌤𑌂 - on a throne studded with gems, seated; 𑌭𑌾𑌸𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌕𑍋𑌟𑌿-𑌲𑌸𑌤𑍍-𑌕𑌿𑌰𑍀𑌟- - shining like innumerable suns, adorned with such a crown; 𑌕𑌟𑌕-𑌆𑌦𑌿-𑌆𑌕𑌲𑍍𑌪-𑌦𑍀𑌪𑍍𑌰-𑌆𑌕𑍃𑌤𑌿 - (and) bracelets etc. other ornaments of splendorous shapes; 𑌶𑍍𑌰𑍀𑌵𑌤𑍍𑌸-𑌅𑌂𑌕𑌿𑌤𑌮𑍍- - bearing the Shreevatsa mark (on Thy chest); 𑌆𑌤𑍍𑌤-𑌕𑍌𑌸𑍍𑌤𑍁𑌭-𑌮𑌣𑌿-𑌛𑌾𑌯𑌾-𑌅𑌰𑍁𑌣𑌂 - (which) is rendered, by the kaustubh gem's lustre, crimson; 𑌕𑌾𑌰𑌣𑌂 𑌵𑌿𑌶𑍍𑌵𑍇𑌷𑌾𑌂 - the source of all creation; 𑌤𑌵 𑌰𑍂𑌪𑌮𑍍- - Thy form; 𑌐𑌕𑍍𑌷𑌤 𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌿𑌃 - saw Brahmaa; 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌤𑍇 𑌵𑌿𑌭𑍋 𑌭𑌾𑌤𑍁 𑌮𑍇 - that Thy ( form) O Lord ! May be revealed to me;

Translation
There thus revealed to Brahma, he saw Thee seated on a gem bedecked throne, adorned with golden crown, bracelets and other ornaments which were shining like innumerable suns.Thy chest bore the Shrivatsa mark, and the kaustubh jewel's lustre gave Thy form a crimson hue. O All pervading Lord! the source of all creation, may that divine form be revealed to me.

𑌕𑌾𑌲-𑌅𑌂𑌭𑍋𑌦- - like dark clouds; 𑌕𑌲𑌾𑌯-𑌕𑍋𑌮𑌲-𑌰𑍁𑌚𑍀-𑌚𑌕𑍍𑌰𑍇𑌣 - (and) delicate blue lily flowers, the splendorous halo; 𑌚𑌕𑍍𑌰𑌂 𑌦𑌿𑌶𑌾𑌮𑍍-𑌆𑌵𑍃𑌣𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌨𑌮𑍍- - (Thy form) illuminating all the quarters; 𑌉𑌦𑌾𑌰-𑌮𑌂𑌦-𑌹𑌸𑌿𑌤 - by a charming benevolent smile; 𑌸𑍍𑌯𑌂𑌦𑍍-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌸𑌨𑍍𑌨-𑌆𑌨𑌨𑌮𑍍 - (Thy) face brightened; 𑌰𑌾𑌜𑌤𑍍-𑌕𑌂𑌬𑍁-𑌗𑌦𑌾-𑌅𑌰𑌿-𑌪𑌂𑌕𑌜-𑌧𑌰- - adorned with the conch, mace, discus, and lotus; 𑌶𑍍𑌰𑍀𑌮𑌦𑍍-𑌭𑍁𑌜𑌾𑌮𑌂𑌡𑌲𑌂 - held in Thy divine four arms; 𑌸𑍍𑌰𑌷𑍍𑌟𑍁𑌃 - 𑌤𑍁𑌷𑍍𑌟𑌿𑌕𑌰𑌂 - to Brahmaa (which) gave great contentment; 𑌵𑌪𑍁𑌃 - 𑌤𑌵 𑌵𑌿𑌭𑍋 - Thy form, Oh All pervading Lord; 𑌮𑌤𑍍-𑌰𑍋𑌗𑌮𑍍-𑌉𑌦𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌸𑌯𑍇𑌤𑍍 - my ailments (may it) eradicate;

Translation
O Lord! Beautiful like the dark clouds, with a hue like that of delicate blue lotus flowers, and with a splendid halo, Thy form enlightens all the quarters. A charming benevolent smile is sported on Thy pleasant face. Thy four arms are adorned with the sacred conch, discus, mace and lotus. That form of Thine gave immense pleasure to Brahmaa. May that form deign to eradicate my ailments.

𑌦𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌟𑍍𑌵𑌾 - having had (Thy) vision; 𑌸𑌂𑌭𑍃𑌤-𑌸𑌂𑌭𑍍𑌰𑌮𑌃 𑌕𑌮𑌲𑌭𑍂𑌃 - - overwhelmed with astonishment, the lotus born ( Brahmaa); 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌪𑌾𑌦-𑌪𑌾𑌥𑍋𑌰𑍁𑌹𑍇 - at Thy lotus feet; 𑌹𑌰𑍍𑌷-𑌆𑌵𑍇𑌶-𑌵𑌶𑌂𑌵𑌦𑌃 - overflowing with ecstasy of joy; 𑌨𑌿𑌪𑌤𑌿𑌤𑌃 - fell and prostrated; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑍀𑌤𑍍𑌯𑌾 𑌕𑍃𑌤𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌥𑍀-𑌭𑌵𑌨𑍍 - with love and sense of fulfilment; 𑌜𑌾𑌨𑌾𑌸𑌿-𑌏𑌵 - Thou does surely know; 𑌮𑌨𑍀𑌷𑌿𑌤𑌂 𑌮𑌮 - my desire; 𑌵𑌿𑌭𑍋 - O Lord!; 𑌜𑍍𑌞𑌾𑌨𑌂 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌆𑌪𑌾𑌦𑌯 - that knowledge give to me; 𑌦𑍍𑌵𑍈𑌤-𑌅𑌦𑍍𑌵𑍈𑌤𑍍-𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌸𑍍𑌵𑌰𑍂𑌪-𑌪𑌰𑌮𑍍- - (about) Thy unique dual and non-dual aspects; 𑌇𑌤𑌿 𑌆𑌚𑌷𑍍𑌟 - thus prayed (Brahmaa); 𑌤𑌂 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌂 𑌭𑌜𑍇 - That Being Thou I pray to;

Translation
O Lord of the Universe! Brahmaa was wonderstruck by Thy vision. He was overwhelmed with the ecstasy of joy and with love and a sense of fulfilment . He fell at Thy lotus feet and prostrated. He prayed to Thee that Thou surely knew his desire to create, and so he asked for the required knowledge. He also prayed to be given the knowledge of the unique dual and the non-dual aspect of Thee. I pray to That Thee.

𑌆𑌤𑌾𑌮𑍍𑌰𑍇 𑌚𑌰𑌣𑍇 - at (Thy) crimson feet; 𑌵𑌿𑌨𑌮𑍍𑌰𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌥 𑌤𑌂 - (who was) humble, then, to him (Brahmaa); 𑌹𑌸𑍍𑌤𑍇𑌨 𑌹𑌸𑍍𑌤𑍇 𑌸𑍍𑌪𑍃𑌶𑌨𑍍 - with Thy hands his hand touching; 𑌬𑍋𑌧𑌃 -𑌤𑍇 𑌭𑌵𑌿𑌤𑌾 - (said) you will have that knowledge; 𑌨 𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌗-𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌿𑌭𑌿𑌃- - and not by the act of creation; 𑌬𑌂𑌧𑌃 -𑌅𑌪𑌿-𑌸𑌂𑌜𑌾𑌯𑌤𑍇 - bondage also will result; 𑌇𑌤𑌿-𑌆𑌭𑌾𑌷𑍍𑌯 𑌗𑌿𑌰𑌂 - uttering these words; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌤𑍋𑌷𑍍𑌯 𑌨𑌿𑌤𑌰𑌾𑌂 - making him extremely happy; 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌚𑌿𑌤𑍍𑌤-𑌗𑍂𑌢𑌃 𑌸𑍍𑌵𑌯𑌂 - in his heart remaining concealed Thyself; 𑌸𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌟𑍌 𑌤𑌂 𑌸𑌮𑍁𑌦𑍈𑌰𑌯𑌃 - prompted him to create; 𑌸 𑌭𑌗𑌵𑌨𑍍- - (Thou) such O Lord!; 𑌉𑌲𑍍𑌲𑌾𑌸𑌯 - hasten; 𑌉𑌲𑍍𑌲𑌾𑌘𑌤𑌾𑌮𑍍 - (my) recovery;

Translation
Brahmaa was with full humbleness prostrating at Thy crimson feet. Thou touched his hand with Thy hands and said to him that he would get the knowledge required for creation, and also that he will not be tainted by the act of creation.Giving him this assurance and pleasing him extremely, Thou ,remaining in his heart, prompted him in the act of creation. O Lord! of such benevolence, kindly hasten my recovery.
