Meaning
𑌵𑍈𑌕𑍁𑌂𑌠 - O Lord of Vaikuntha loka !; 𑌵𑌰𑍍𑌧𑌿𑌤-𑌬𑌲𑌃 -𑌅𑌥 - (Brahmaa) whose strength had enhanced then; 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌸𑌾𑌦𑌾𑌤𑍍- - by Thy grace; 𑌅𑌂𑌭𑍋𑌜𑍍𑌯𑍋𑌨𑌿𑌃 - - the lotus born (Brahmaa); 𑌅𑌸𑍃𑌜𑌤𑍍 𑌕𑌿𑌲 - created it is said; 𑌜𑍀𑌵𑌦𑍇𑌹𑌾𑌨𑍍 - bodies for jeevas; 𑌸𑍍𑌥𑌾𑌨𑍂𑌨𑌿 - the non-moving entities (trees etc.); 𑌭𑍂𑌰𑍁𑌹𑌮𑌯𑌾𑌨𑌿 - which grow on the earth; 𑌤𑌥𑌾 𑌤𑌿𑌰𑌶𑍍𑌚𑌾𑌂 𑌜𑌾𑌤𑌿𑌂 - and animals, birds etc.; 𑌮𑌨𑍁𑌷𑍍𑌯-𑌨𑌿𑌵𑌹𑌾𑌨𑍍-𑌅𑌪𑌿 - and also human kind; 𑌦𑍇𑌵𑌭𑍇𑌦𑌾𑌨𑍍 - and various divine beings;

Translation
O Lord of Vaikuntha! by Thy grace, with increased spiritual powers, Brahmaa started creation. He created varieties of beings, those that grow on earth and are non-moving like trees etc., as well as the moving, like animals birds etc., human beings and various divine beings. These serve as bodies for the jeevas to enter into.

𑌶𑍍𑌲𑍋𑌕𑌃
𑌮𑌿𑌥𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌗𑍍𑌰𑌹𑌾𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌿𑌮𑌤𑌿𑌰𑌾𑌗𑌵𑌿𑌕𑍋𑌪𑌭𑍀𑌤𑌿-
𑌰𑌜𑍍𑌞𑌾𑌨𑌵𑍃𑌤𑍍𑌤𑌿𑌮𑌿𑌤𑌿 𑌪𑌂𑌚𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌾𑌂 𑌸 𑌸𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌟𑍍𑌵𑌾 ।
𑌉𑌦𑍍𑌦𑌾𑌮𑌤𑌾𑌮𑌸𑌪𑌦𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌥𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌾𑌨𑌦𑍂𑌨 -
𑌸𑍍𑌤𑍇𑌨𑍇 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌦𑍀𑌯𑌚𑌰𑌣𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌰𑌣𑌂 𑌵𑌿𑌶𑍁𑌦𑍍𑌧𑍍𑌯𑍈 ॥2॥

Meaning
𑌮𑌿𑌥𑍍𑌯𑌾-𑌆𑌗𑍍𑌰𑌹- - false apprehension; 𑌅𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌿𑌮𑌤𑌿-𑌰𑌾𑌗- - egoism, attachment; 𑌵𑌿𑌕𑍋𑌪-𑌭𑍀𑌤𑌿𑌃- - anger and fear; 𑌅𑌜𑍍𑌞𑌾𑌨𑌵𑍃𑌤𑍍𑌤𑌿𑌮𑍍-𑌇𑌤𑌿 - effects of ignorance, these; 𑌪𑌂𑌚𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌾𑌂 - of five kinds; 𑌸 𑌸𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌟𑍍𑌵𑌾 - Brahmaa having created; 𑌉𑌦𑍍𑌦𑌾𑌮-𑌤𑌾𑌮𑌸-𑌪𑌦𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌥-𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌾𑌨𑍍-𑌅𑌦𑍂𑌨𑌃- - and repenting for having created these extremely taamasic qualities; 𑌤𑍇𑌨𑍇 - resorted to; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌦𑍀𑌯-𑌚𑌰𑌣-𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌰𑌣𑌂 - on Thy lotus feet contemplation; 𑌵𑌿𑌶𑍁𑌦𑍍𑌧𑍍𑌯𑍈 - for self purification;

Translation
Brahma then created the five-fold effects of ignorance,which are wrong apprehension, egoism, attachment, anger and fear. Having created these extremely negative qualities and repenting for doing so, he resorted to meditate on Thy lotus feet for self purification.

𑌤𑌾𑌵𑌤𑍍 𑌸𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌜 𑌮𑌨𑌸𑌾 𑌸𑌨𑌕𑌂 𑌸𑌨𑌂𑌦𑌂
𑌭𑍂𑌯𑌃 𑌸𑌨𑌾𑌤𑌨𑌮𑍁𑌨𑌿𑌂 𑌚 𑌸𑌨𑌤𑍍𑌕𑍁𑌮𑌾𑌰𑌮𑍍 ।
𑌤𑍇 𑌸𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌟𑌿𑌕𑌰𑍍𑌮𑌣𑌿 𑌤𑍁 𑌤𑍇𑌨 𑌨𑌿𑌯𑍁𑌜𑍍𑌯𑌮𑌾𑌨𑌾-

Meaning
𑌤𑌾𑌵𑌤𑍍 𑌸𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌜 𑌮𑌨𑌸𑌾 - then he created from his mind; 𑌸𑌨𑌕𑌂 𑌸𑌨𑌂𑌦𑌂 - (sages) Sanaka, Sananda; 𑌭𑍂𑌯𑌃 𑌸𑌨𑌾𑌤𑌨𑌮𑍁𑌨𑌿𑌂 𑌚 𑌸𑌨𑌤𑍍𑌕𑍁𑌮𑌾𑌰𑌂 - also Sanaatana Muni and Sanat kumara; 𑌤𑍇 𑌸𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌟𑌿𑌕𑌰𑍍𑌮𑌣𑌿 𑌤𑍁 - they , in the job of creation; 𑌤𑍇𑌨 𑌨𑌿𑌯𑍁𑌜𑍍𑌯𑌮𑌾𑌨𑌾𑌃 - - by Brahmaa, though asked to engage; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌪𑌾𑌦-𑌭𑌕𑍍𑌤𑌿-𑌰𑌸𑌿𑌕𑌾 - (these sages) who were immersed in devotion to Thy feet; 𑌜𑌗𑍃𑌹𑍁𑌃 -𑌨 𑌵𑌾𑌣𑍀𑌮𑍍 - did not heed (his) words;

Translation
Brahmaa then from his mind created Sanaka, Sananda, Sanaatana Muni and Sanat Kumaras.Even though they were directed by Brahmaa to engage in the work of creation, they did not heed his words because they were highly devoted to Thy feet.

𑌶𑍍𑌲𑍋𑌕𑌃
𑌤𑌾𑌵𑌤𑍍 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌕𑍋𑌪𑌮𑍁𑌦𑌿𑌤𑌂 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌤𑌿𑌰𑍁𑌂𑌧𑌤𑍋𑌽𑌸𑍍𑌯
𑌭𑍍𑌰𑍂𑌮𑌧𑍍𑌯𑌤𑍋𑌽𑌜𑌨𑌿 𑌮𑍃𑌡𑍋 𑌭𑌵𑌦𑍇𑌕𑌦𑍇𑌶𑌃 ।
𑌨𑌾𑌮𑌾𑌨𑌿 𑌮𑍇 𑌕𑍁𑌰𑍁 𑌪𑌦𑌾𑌨𑌿 𑌚 𑌹𑌾 𑌵𑌿𑌰𑌿𑌂𑌚𑍇-

Meaning
𑌤𑌾𑌵𑌤𑍍 - then; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌕𑍋𑌪𑌮𑍍-𑌉𑌦𑌿𑌤𑌂 - the anger which arose in him; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌤𑌿𑌰𑍁𑌂𑌧𑌤𑌃 - - and who was suppressing it; 𑌅𑌸𑍍𑌯 𑌭𑍍𑌰𑍂𑌮𑌧𑍍𑌯𑌤𑌃 - - from his (Brahmaa's) middle of the eyebrows; 𑌅𑌜𑌨𑌿 𑌮𑍃𑌡𑌃 - was born Mrida; 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌏𑌕-𑌦𑍇𑌶𑌃 - who was a part incarnation of Thine; 𑌨𑌾𑌮𑌾𑌨𑌿 𑌮𑍇 𑌕𑍁𑌰𑍁 - provide me with names; 𑌪𑌦𑌾𑌨𑌿 𑌚 - and abodes; 𑌹𑌾 𑌵𑌿𑌰𑌿𑌂𑌚- - O Brahmaa; 𑌇𑌤𑌿-𑌆𑌦𑍌 𑌰𑍁𑌰𑍋𑌦 - thus at once he cried out; 𑌕𑌿𑌲 𑌤𑍇𑌨 𑌸 𑌰𑍁𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌨𑌾𑌮𑌾 - because of that he came to be known as Rudra;

Translation
A great anger arose in Brahma, because he was refused his bidding by his mental sons, which he tried to suppress. This caused the birth of Mrida from between his eyebrows, who is a part incarnation of Thine. Mrida at once cried out and told Brahmaa to provide him with names and abodes. Thus Mrida came to be known as Rudra.

Meaning
𑌏𑌕𑌾𑌦𑌶-𑌆𑌹𑍍𑌵𑌯𑌤𑌯𑌾 - with eleven names; 𑌚 𑌵𑌿𑌭𑌿𑌨𑍍𑌨-𑌰𑍂𑌪𑌂 - and different forms; 𑌰𑍁𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌂 𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌾𑌯 - to Rudra giving; 𑌦𑌯𑌿𑌤𑌾𑌃 𑌵𑌨𑌿𑌤𑌾𑌃 -𑌚 𑌦𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾 - and also giving eleven dear wives; 𑌤𑌾𑌵𑌂𑌤𑌿-𑌅𑌦𑌤𑍍𑌤 𑌚 𑌪𑌦𑌾𑌨𑌿 - and as many abodes were also given; 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌣𑍁𑌨𑍍𑌨𑌃 - (then) impelled by Thee; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌹 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌜𑌾-𑌵𑌿𑌰𑌚𑌨𑌾𑌯 - (Brahmaa) requested for the creation of beings; 𑌚 𑌸𑌾𑌦𑌰𑌂 𑌤𑌮𑍍 - to him (Rudra) humbly;

Translation
Brahmaa then prompted by Thee, gave Rudra eleven names, forms, abodes and as many wives and humbly requested him to help in the creative process.

𑌰𑍁𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌭𑌿𑌸𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌟𑌭𑌯𑌦𑌾𑌕𑍃𑌤𑌿𑌰𑍁𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌸𑌂𑌘-

𑌰𑍁𑌦𑍍𑌰-𑌅𑌭𑌿𑌸𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌟- - Rudra's creation; 𑌭𑌯𑌦-𑌆𑌕𑍃𑌤𑌿-𑌰𑍁𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌸𑌂𑌘- - (consisting) of fierce looking hosts of Rudraas; 𑌸𑌂𑌪𑍂𑌰𑍍𑌯𑌮𑌾𑌣-𑌭𑍁𑌵𑌨𑌤𑍍𑌰𑌯- - filling up the three worlds; 𑌭𑍀𑌤-𑌚𑍇𑌤𑌾𑌃 - and getting frightened by them; 𑌮𑌾 𑌮𑌾 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌜𑌾𑌃 𑌸𑍃𑌜 - (Brahmaa said) do not, do not procreate any more beings; 𑌤𑌪𑌃 -𑌚𑌰 - do penance; 𑌮𑌂𑌗𑍍𑌲𑌾𑌯- - for the welfare (of the world); 𑌇𑌤𑌿-𑌆𑌚𑌷𑍍𑌟 𑌤𑌂 𑌕𑌮𑌲𑌭𑍂𑌃 - - thus said the lotus born Brahmaa to him; 𑌭𑌵𑌤-𑌈𑌰𑌿𑌤𑌾𑌤𑍍𑌮𑌾 - by Thee being prompted from within;

Translation
Rudraa's creation consisted of fierce looking Rudras,which were filling up the three worlds. Brahmaa was frightened by them, and from within being prompted by Thee, told Rudra not to create any more beings, and asked him to do penance for the benefit of the world.

Meaning
𑌤𑌸𑍍𑌯-𑌅𑌥 - thereafter, from him (Brahmaa); 𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌗-𑌰𑌸𑌿𑌕𑌸𑍍𑌯 - who was intent on creation; 𑌮𑌰𑍀𑌚𑌿𑌃 -𑌅𑌤𑍍𑌰𑌿𑌃 - - Mareechi, Atri; 𑌤𑌤𑍍𑌰-𑌅𑌙𑌿𑌗𑌰𑌾𑌃 - and also Angiraas; 𑌕𑍍𑌰𑌤𑍁𑌮𑍁𑌨𑌿𑌃 𑌪𑍁𑌲𑌹𑌃 𑌪𑍁𑌲𑌸𑍍𑌤𑍍𑌯𑌃 - Kratumuni, Pulaha, Pulastya; 𑌅𑌂𑌗𑌾𑌤𑍍-𑌅𑌜𑌾𑌯𑌤 - from his body were born; 𑌭𑍃𑌗𑍁𑌃-𑌚 𑌵𑌸𑌿𑌷𑍍𑌠-𑌦𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍌 - also Bhrigu, Vasishtha and Dakshas; 𑌶𑍍𑌰𑍀-𑌨𑌾𑌰𑌦𑌃 -𑌚 - and Shri Naarada; 𑌭𑌗𑌵𑌨𑍍 - O Lord!; 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌅𑌂𑌘𑍍𑌰𑌿-𑌦𑌾𑌸𑌃 - who is devoted to Thy lotus feet;

Brahmaa, who was intent on creation, from his own body created (the sages) Mareechi, Atri, Angiraas, Kratumuni, Pulaha, Pulastya, Bhrigu, Vasishtha, the Dakshas and also Shri Naarada, who is a devotee of Thy lotus feet.

𑌧𑌰𑍍𑌮-𑌆𑌦𑌿𑌕𑌾𑌨𑍍-𑌅𑌭𑌿𑌸𑍃𑌜𑌨𑍍- - Dharmadevas and others having created; 𑌅𑌥 𑌕𑌰𑍍𑌦𑌮𑌂 𑌚 - and also Kardama; 𑌵𑌾𑌣𑍀𑌂 𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌾𑌯 - then after creating Saraswati; 𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌿𑌃 - - Brahmaa; 𑌅𑌂𑌗𑌜-𑌸𑌂𑌕𑍁𑌲𑌃 -𑌅𑌭𑍂𑌤𑍍 - was afflicted by desire; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌬𑍋𑌧𑌿𑌤𑍈𑌃 - - (then) prompted by Thee; 𑌸𑌨𑌕-𑌦𑌕𑍍𑌷-𑌮𑍁𑌖𑍈𑌃 - - by Sanaka, Daksha and others; 𑌤𑌨𑍂𑌜𑍈𑌃-𑌉𑌦𑍍𑌬𑍋𑌧𑌿𑌤𑌃 -𑌚 - by his own sons enlightened; 𑌵𑌿𑌰𑌰𑌾𑌮 - refrained; 𑌤𑌮𑌃 𑌵𑌿𑌮𑍁𑌂𑌚𑌨𑍍 - and gave up ignorance;

Translation
Brahmaa further created Dharmadeva, sage Kardama and then Saraswati. He was then overcome with desire for her, his own creation. However, prompted by Thee, Sanaka Daksha and his other sons enlightened him and he gave up desire, being disillusioned.

Meaning
𑌵𑍇𑌦𑌾𑌨𑍍 𑌪𑍁𑌰𑌾𑌣-𑌨𑌿𑌵𑌹𑌾𑌨𑍍- - the Vedas and all the Puraanas; 𑌅𑌪𑌿 𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌵-𑌵𑌿𑌦𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌃 - also all the other branches of learning; 𑌕𑍁𑌰𑍍𑌵𑌨𑍍 𑌨𑌿𑌜-𑌆𑌨𑌨-𑌗𑌣𑌾𑌤𑍍- - bringing out from all his faces; 𑌚𑌤𑍁𑌃-𑌆𑌨𑌨-𑌅𑌸𑍌 - that four faced (Brahmaa); 𑌪𑍁𑌤𑍍𑌰𑍇𑌷𑍁 𑌤𑍇𑌷𑍁 𑌵𑌿𑌨𑌿𑌧𑌾𑌯 - to his those sons having imparted; 𑌸 𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌗-𑌵𑍃𑌦𑍍𑌧𑌿𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌪𑍍𑌨𑍁𑌵𑌨𑍍- - and he unable to further the creation; 𑌤𑌵 𑌪𑌦𑌾𑌂𑌬𑍁𑌜𑌮𑍍-𑌆𑌶𑍍𑌰𑌿𑌤𑌃 - 𑌅𑌭𑍂𑌤𑍍 - at Thy lotus feet took refuge;

Translation
Brahmaa then brought out the Vedas and all the Puraanas and all the other branches of learning, from his four faces and taught them to his sons. He then found himself unable to further the process of creation and so he took refuge at Thy lotus feet.

Meaning
𑌜𑌾𑌨𑌨𑍍-𑌉𑌪𑌾𑌯𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌥 - knowing the technique then; 𑌦𑍇𑌹𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌜𑌃 𑌵𑌿𑌭𑌜𑍍𑌯 - Brahmaa, dividing his body into two; 𑌸𑍍𑌤𑍍𑌰𑍀-𑌪𑍁𑌂𑌸-𑌭𑌾𑌵𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌭𑌜𑌤𑍍- - assumed the forms of female and male; 𑌮𑌨𑍁-𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌵𑌧𑍂𑌭𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌮𑍍 - as Manu and his wife (Shataroopaa); 𑌤𑌾𑌭𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌂 𑌚 - through them; 𑌮𑌾𑌨𑍁𑌷-𑌕𑍁𑌲𑌾𑌨𑌿 𑌵𑌿𑌵𑌰𑍍𑌧𑌯𑌨𑍍- - then multiplying the human race; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌂 𑌗𑍋𑌵𑌿𑌂𑌦𑍍 𑌮𑌾𑌰𑍁𑌤𑌪𑍁𑌰𑍇𑌶 - Thou O Govind! Lord of Guruvaayur!; 𑌨𑌿𑌰𑍁𑌂𑌧𑌿 𑌰𑍋𑌗𑌾𑌨𑍍 - (kindly) eradicate my ailments;

Translation
Then prompted by Thee and knowing the technique Brahmaa, from the two sides of his body created the male and the female, named Manu and his wife Shataroopa. Through them he then multiplied the human race. Thou O Govinda! Lord of Guruvaayur! kindly eradicate my ailments.
